We need to get out of the war business and start to focus on issues at home. While I believe in being a good ally, I truly feel the expense should not come entirely from the US taxpayers. Let's secure our borders and protect ourselves from those who wish us harm.
The borders of this country should be secure and should never be a political pawn. As citizens, it is our right to expect our government to do what it is supposed to do: protect us from our enemies. This also applies to immigration, which should be a controlled and managed process so we know who is entering our country.
Why do we spend and send millions of dollars to other countries while some veterans are left homeless and struggle to access the medical care they deserve? Having performed their duty to protect America, they and their families deserve better.
The one thing we need to protect at all costs is the Second Amendment. I truly believe that if we lose this fight, we lose other rights along with it. The words "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" must never be taken away.
Our education system needs a revolution, one that embraces diverse pathways to success. High school programs should integrate valuable trades like electrical work, plumbing, and ironworking, providing students who may not choose a traditional college route with a head start in these rewarding and in-demand careers. A flat, low fixed interest rate would ensure accessibility and fairness, ensuring these loans serve their intended purpose: to empower individuals in pursuit of their dreams, not to enrich the lender. We must prioritize making higher education attainable without saddling graduates with crippling debt.
We need to address the critical issue of human trafficking in America. It's essential to prioritize the safety of all humans, including those who are lost or abducted. Additionally, efforts to combat human trafficking should be implemented thoughtfully and effectively. In 2022, 1 in 4 trafficked humans were children.
